Teflon Tape

This PTFE-based (Polytetrafluoroethylene) thread sealing tape sold by EMPI helps create a better seal on threaded fittings and a is great option for customers who have issues with leaky fuel or oil systems. PTFE-based tapes work on both fuel and oil line threads, but will be dissolved by brake fluid because of how corrosive it is. This material fits on all Volkswagen fuel and oil lines through 1979 (and later).
