Starter, 12 Volt Automatic and Bus

This starter is compatible with all air-cooled cars with auto-stick or fully automatic transmissions. The self supporting SR17 starter was used in 1968 through 1974 Standard Beetles, 1968 through 1974 Karmann Ghias and 1971 through 1974 Super Beetles with auto-stick transmissions. It was also used in 1968 through 1973 Type 3s, 1972 through 1979 Type 2 Bus models and 1980 through 7 (July) of 1981 Vanagons.
